I wonder if someone can help me understand. Is it only in Christianity that those who stand for the truth and cast light upon darkness are vilified? Or maybe ordinary bloggers make easier target as compared to the government.
Ancient Israel was let astray and cast into captivity simply because their leaders led their followers astray. They even stoned and killed the prophets who warned them of their wrongdoing instead of repenting. What lessons can we in the church learn from this.
I would like to say kudos to our local government for taking the courageous stand to investigate wrongdoing by church leaders. This could have boomeranged on them but they have taken this step for the sake of law and justice, a subject that is close to God's heart.
The Westminster Confession Chapter 23 reminds us "God, the supreme Lord and King of all the world, has ordained civil magistrates, to be, under Him, over the people, for His own glory, and the public good: and, to this end, has armed them with the power of the sword, for the defence and encouragement of them that are good, and for the punishment of evil doers.
Christians should obey the goverment not because we fear the governement law but because we love God and obey God's commands.
Romans 13:1-4 - Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

ReplyDeleteYou are obviously angry with the perceived attacks against the "CHEAP GRACE" theology that another pastor in the city is preaching. #TRUTH: The leaders from that church are VERY afraid that their members will not move to Bueno Vista and will just continue to attend services at ST BCOS it is a consumer congregation, no disciples or sense of family to faithfully follow their pastor. This is the way the "cheap grace" pastors have grown their congregation, now this is their undoing. #FACT Cheap grace church has booked halls around Marina Area JUST so that its members can continue to watch service on video and HENCE put their money there AND NOT SUNTEC CONVENTION CENTER. We know, you know, everybody knows! As a great pastor from ST once taught us " If it is God's thing, God will take care of it". If a church grows and its members prosper it is GOD. GOD will NOT let an organization take the name of Jesus and do evil bad things and YET bless it for 21 years. Ask any man of God.
SO....please don't be insecure or let your leaders insecurity affect you. It is obvious you started this blog NOT because you felt so strongly about plagiarism ( or else you have included other pastors/ministers/sermons too but DUN HAVE LE)... you did this because you cannot TAHAN KH & CHC being blessed. (Dun be like Cain ah...) This is God's house, you are in God's house too. Let's all win SG for the Lord. And to the rest that condemn Cheat Grace.. be careful to always show love. Jesus said we are sheep because we show love to others, not because we have the most ThDs and are more right than everybody else Matt 25:33-46 (y'know.. the sheep & goats thing)

Consider this thougtfully. I have quoted from the Westminster Confession of Faith. How many independent megachurches, prosperity theologians ever refer to the W C F?
ReplyDeleteYou say CHC, KH been blessed? Just because they have become rich and big? I will let God be the judge of that. Perhaps you might want to meditate on what God thought abot Jeroboam 2 and his deeds in 2 Kings 14:23-28. Its a very short passage but pregnant with meaning. :)
My security comes from being a child of God not from being a blind follower of earthly men, however blessed and holy they claim to be. I wonder where does your leaders' and your security come from? Ponder anew on this! He has yet to make even a simple reassuring statement to his sheep, e.g."There is nothing to worry about! I am innocent and let me ASSURE YOU that the investigation will vindicate me and find me innocent." have you thought about why a statement like that has not been forthcoming?
I hardly care about witch-hunting. It is just that your pastor's copying was just too glaring to miss. He did not even attempt to edit, just copy word-for-word. Consider this, pastors spend quiet time and then they write a reflection of what they believe God is telling them. Consider this, if the plagiarised articles were first compiled (cannot use 'written' right?) in 2005, how is it that in the last 4+ years, he has not been able to update anything in the compilation with newly-baked bread of life? Has God been silent to him so that he cannot produce any new devotionals to replace the ones he borrowed from external sources?

ReplyDeleteYes I am saying that a church which proudly proclaims the name of Jesus, which pray more than any other churches in Spore (members from students to executives to housewives to retired go to pray at 6:30am in the morning for one whole week many times a year with many overnight prayer meetings); which reaches out to the lost fulfilling the great commission more than any other church in Spore; with over 70% 1st time converts; whose members love God through their actions, giving, serving (1 John 3:18) more than any other church in Spore; which made it possible for other churches to break through in every ministry (Snr Psts only allowed lights, youth mnistries, rock music, dance; wearing jeans while preaching etc bcos CHC did it and was successful in reaching the lost); a church where the supernatural including healings, deliverances, visions, financial miracles etc happens on a weekly basis across thousands of cg's (this one stumps the scholars, no answer to God moving in spite of their clever objections. Hence only the "beelzebub" argument in Matt 12:24 can be used) MORE THAN ANYWHERE ELSE IN SPORE; where more members are trained and sacrifice to go to Bible school more than any church in Spore;......YES when this type of church grows BIG and RICH, IT IS GOD HIMSELF doing this. Only if you believe in a dead god that is a relic can you say that a church or preacher will carry Jesus' name, do all kinds of wrong & evil things, yet grow because of some clever 20 year planning and charismatic sales strategy/con-manship while this great and awesome GOD doesn't do anything to protect His beloved church and His Name?
No my friend, God is alive and active, his power has not ceased. If any person sullies the Name above all names, God will show up. Guaranteed. SO.....
Why has CHC under Pst Kong grown all these years without support from an international body, without any dominant big businessman financing it, in spite of all the opposition of the past generation's religious beliefs?

2001- Press tried to scandalise Jurong West Building after featuring all its shiny new features, tries to relate Pst Kong to the American televangelists. We all know it was because they couldn't take a church being so blessed, like Cain they tried to kill the one who had God's favor. Church grew...
2002-Sun crosses over and becomes a pop singer. Press starts running comments from other pastors condemning her for Armani dress and how a pastor's wife should be ugly& poor instead of being attractive & successful. Jesus' Church grew, more people got saved....Jurong West kept increasing services to services masses..
2003- Roland Poon initially pens anonymous letter accusing CHC of forcing members to buy CDs. Press jumps on it, but when Poon apologizes for his lapse.. the press doesn't apologize. Church grows even bigger, PSt Kong brings revival to Taiwan.. a spiritually dead country. Ancient churches of 50s and few hundred members in Taiwan today have thousands upon thousands of members, all also recently saved... Jesus' Church grew, Jurong West running up to 20 services every weekend
2008- China wine comes out, again the religious jump all over it. Press features it but are wary of the battering they took the last few years so they don't write a big commentary on it, Besides, that was the year of the recession so they had lots to write about. AIA Citi almost bankrupt, Lehmann DBS notes collapse etc. Singapore's billion dollar reserves are used shortly. Church grows from from 2 EXPO english services to additional 2 Jurong West services, 4 in total, Pst Kong is stretched even more but jesus' Church grows.
2010 March - Suntec announcement. Right away all the jealous people cry "foul!" press jumps on it this time. mentions "COC', "URA", "Simon Teoh" " investigation" "questions"in their headlines. COC quietly cleared the Suntec deal, NOTHING ILLEGAL there. Press pretends they never said anything, not retraction, no 'CHC SUNTEC DEAL HAS BEEN CLEARED BY COC!!!" headlines. Church grows above 30,000 in membership. Asia Conference is wildly successful, Pst Kong receives endorsement from Yonggi Cho, Bonke and CGI. The big boys. The ones who influenced the universal church the last 50 years. .. Jesus' Church grows
AND NOW.... plagiarism accusations. Even the American authors themselves couldn't be bothered to press on with any action. WHat do you think will happen this time? IF we lose, you're right. BUT if the pattern repeats itself and God vindicates CHC and Pst Kong again? Do you apologize publicly and personally to all those you've tried to shame? OR do you slink off in oblivion denying to yourself and others that you ever wrote this blog? Again whose Church is growing? Whose servant are you trying to shame? Of course on Judgement Day EVERYTHING will be revealed.
